Packaging Design for IDFC Soundbox
Project type
Packaging Design
Location
New Delhi, India
This packaging design project revolved around a unique product — a compact soundbox developed to assist Indian truck drivers in tracking their FasTag toll balance. Often stranded or delayed due to insufficient funds, drivers needed a clear, real-time audio and visual cue system. Our goal was to create a packaging system that stood out in a sea of UPI devices while keeping production costs minimal.
From in-depth field research across different truck models (TATA, Ashok Leyland, and Eicher) to understanding spatial constraints and driver pain points, the design was built around practicality, cultural relevance, and ease of use. The packaging featured minimal, monochrome truck visuals to reduce print cost while preserving a premium appeal. Additionally, we developed custom typography, icons, and an instruction manual in multilingual formats to suit regional needs.
The result: an intuitive, culturally-resonant packaging design that combines aesthetic value with functional clarity — giving truckers a smarter, safer, and more informed journey.
